About the role

Reporting to the Lead, web merchandiser, this position requires an individual who is detail-oriented and analytical with an entrepreneurial spirit. This individual must be able to build a strategic merchandising plan for the online store. The incumbent will be responsible for enriching collections, products and categories with content and data to increase findability, engagement, and conversions, all in a timely & accurate manner.

Tasks

  • Create, upload, modify and edit all products visible online
  • Arrange, categorize, and cross sell product to drive conversion of vacation packages
  • Follow up on the arrival of new products and ensure that the presentation is optimal
  • Improve product findability, increase conversion and streamline the shopping experience
  • Use web analytics and reporting tools to optimize on site assortment presentation, product recommendations and other automated rules to drive improvements in metrics
  • Support Lead, web merchandiser and utilize Google Analytics / Google Data Studio to create monthly reports that measure the impact of implemented strategies and provide relevant and actionable insight
  • Optimize ecommerce and digital marketing performance (ex: product badging) based on brand direction
  • Collaborate and coordinate with product, marketing, revenue management, content and image departments to align and streamline all product merchandising initiatives, as well as align external marketing efforts with on-site merchandising
  • Assists the Web Merchandiser (lead) to refresh categories/trends or products in response to sales trends/results, campaigns, seasonality
  • Monitor and control work daily (e.g., through spot checks, complete review, or subsequent processing) for both quantity and quality.
  • Constantly work to ensure consistency and optimal customer experiences in both the desktop and mobile shopping channels
  • Monitor and troubleshoot site appearance for accuracy (price, name, descriptions, categories, photos) as well as consistency between English and French versions.
  • Coordinate and prioritize web images requests with product team and web image team
  • Participate and execute the merchandising strategy on the website to optimize sales and continually optimize it to keep the site fresh.
  • Participate in various tests related to the addition of new functions on the website (ex: A/B testing)
  • Research and report on competition, relevant industry trends and best practices.
  • Assist Lead, web merchandiser and manager with other special tasks and projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or marketing
  • 2 years or more of experience managing web content and/or store merchandising
  • Solid track record of using sales & analytics data to make merchandising decisions.
  • Experience in the travel industry an asset
  • Well organised and meticulous
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and French)
  • Able to function in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work autonomously with little supervision
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices, usability standards & HTML an asset
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong ability to adapt quickly, work independently, multi-task and work under pressure
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of web analytics reporting platforms such as Google Analytics
