Work should be so much more than just a job you do to earn a paycheque. And at SGI, it is.

We offer the essentials – a competitive salary, great pension, and excellent employer-paid family benefits. But we also provide opportunities. The opportunity to do work that makes a difference in your community. The opportunity to expand your professional skills and grow your career. And the opportunity to come to work every day to a job you’re passionate about and that leaves you feeling happy and fulfilled.

Now that we’ve (hopefully!) sparked your interest, here’s some good news: we’re hiring!

If you are looking for a position where one day is never the same, you have the autonomy to complete your work and building relationships is your super power– the Broker Partnership Representative role is for you. You are responsible for building and maintaining effective business relationships with brokers, working with brokers to promote the company’s products, initiatives, and strategic direction.

We hope you consider applying if you:

  • Are team - oriented but also enjoy the independence this role offers: Being a strong team player is essential — but equally important is the ability to self manage and take ownership of your own broker portfolio.
  • Enjoy a dynamic workload with ebbs and flows: Work shifts depending on the time of year; road visits are planned annually, but day‑to‑day requires flexibility to manage fluctuating demands.
  • Look forward to a mix of reactive and proactive work: A large portion of the day is responding to incoming broker calls and emails, while also maintaining an expectation of proactive outreach and relationship‑building.
  • Understand the importance of relationship management & product knowledge: Strong Property & Casualty product knowledge and broker‑facing experience (inside or outside SGI) is critical, along with ongoing solutioning supported by internal networks.
  • Are self‑motivated and enjoy the face‑to‑face engagement: The role requires independence, self‑driven work, and consistent proactive action — especially getting in front of brokers, maintaining visibility, and managing your own book effectively.

Typically, these skills are gained through a four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study, such as Business , or defined equivalency and 5 - 7 years' experience in a senior technical insurance or an account management type position. But we don’t want you to worry about checking every box! We know the confidence gap and imposter syndrome can get in the way, so please don't hesitate to apply. We'd love to hear from you!
