About the role

Reporting to the Manager, you will be an integral member of our team responsible for deepening and broadening relationships with existing clients from an assigned block of business, in collaboration with associates in wealth management. This role supports our "Team Code" clients and will involve working closely with another advisor and regular collaboration with the rest of the wealth team.

What you will do:

  • Business Development:
    • New Business from general servicing, internal referrals, and warm leads (inside sales) - ($15,000 first year revenue 2026 goal)
    • Business retention
    • Maintain an active pipeline through inside sales activities under own initiatives
  • Client Satisfaction:
    • Prepare for client meetings – generate policy summaries, illustrations/calculators, agendas, other items as required
    • Complete General servicing tasks (ex: address changes, beneficiary changes, banking changes) in a timely manner
    • Proactively reach out to clients to review policy or options
    • Ensure client satisfaction through annual survey
  • Productivity and Effectiveness:
    • Ensure the smooth application process through to policy placement
    • Maintain accurate client records, add opportunities, and activities in Epic
  • Risk Management**:**
    • Adhere to corporate policies & regulatory requirements
    • Ensure complete client files for own clients
    • Maintain client KYCs at 60% within the required 3-year time frame required for updates
  • Work with fund companies and dealer to support client needs and ensure follow-up of requests
  • Manage the client life cycle to ensure consistency of service at Cowan
  • Contribute to the sharing of knowledge, product updates through our team meetings and with other members of the inside sales team
  • Performance Metrics**:**
    • General servicing timelines <15 days
    • Client meetings (new clients and reviews) 5/week
    • Proactive reach outs 15/week
    • Client satisfaction NPS >30%
    • KYC (Know your Client) updates in good order (<3years) 60%
    • Adhere to corporate, industry, and dealer/regulator compliance requirements and policies
    • Maintain accurate activity, opportunities, and claims in Epic
    • New Investments - $15,000 first year revenue
    • Renewal revenue $134,095
    • $750,000 active pipeline over rolling 12 months
    • Contribute to revenue target of wealth team ($2,532,441 (2026))

What you will bring:

  • University Degree/College Diploma; Minimum of 5 years hands-on investment experience
  • Professional Designations (ie: CFP, PFP, QAFP) or working towards an asset.
  • Mutual funds license required. Life License (LLQP) required. Ability to obtain the LLQP license within 1 year
  • Proven experience with investment structures, such as RRSPs, LIRAs, TFSAs & RRIFs.
  • You have a track record of working with investment-centric clients, providing advice and guidance with their portfolios, including mutual funds and ETFs.
  • You’re a self-motivated, people-oriented individual with a passion for helping people with their investment and wealth planning needs.
  • Ability to resolve problems and manage incoming client inquiries.
  • Excellent organizational, negotiation, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, CRM and financial planning software
