Business Process Lead - Safety 12 Months Contract

The Business Process Lead, Health and Safety is responsible for reporting, identifying, forecasting, monitoring, and communicating health and safety aspects for the Canadian division. The successful candidate will be required to derive data-driven insights from multiple sources, which may be high-level or lacking in detail, to support critical business decisions.

The Business Process Lead, Health and Safety reports directly to the Manager, Environmental Health and Safety Operations, and supports the Environmental Health and Safety department, and other cross-functional business partners across the Home Depot, including but not limited to store operations, and merchandising. Collaboration, effective communication, balancing stakeholders, business insights, technical and analytical skills are critical to the success of the BPL role.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly reporting for field and leadership teams on Health and Safety metrics and provide recommendations to improve metrics
  • Develop, test and roll out new tools and applications using an agile approach based on business needs and requirements
  • Work with the Learning team to prioritize Health and Safety training development
  • Support the development of tools and processes that facilitate the execution and implementation of Health and Safety initiatives
  • Conduct analyses and produce forecasts for the use in the development of Health and Safety business decisions
  • Identify trends and anomalies, identify root cause, analyze and synthesize findings
  • Leverage knowledge of store processes to identify opportunities, such as associate/systemic error detection, process improvements, correction guidance, etc.
  • Identify internal and external process improvement opportunities and recommend actionable solutions
  • Gather and define business requirements, address business needs through reports, analysis and insights, and provide verbal/written recommendations to various levels of management.
  • Manage EHS communication channels and lead associate engagement programs
  • Development and maintenance of templates for departmental use.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Internal Candidates: Must fulfill minimum time-in-position (1 year)
  • 2+ years of experience in the retail sector, data analytics, and/or business intelligence
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in Business, Data Science, or Health and Safety is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to extrapolate pertinent information from various sources, including large datasets
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of and proven experience with SAP, databases, and GBQ.
  • Proficiency with Tableau and/or Alteryx preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
  • Requires highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive information.
  • Flexible in attitude and approach to business solutions and ambiguous situations. May require original thinking and approach for developing a solution.
  • Self-starter and organized, with the ability to work independently and provide high quality work under pressure
