Schedule: Continental Nights (2000-0800 hrs)

Pay Rate: $24.54/hour

Overview Baycrest Hospital in North York is a leading healthcare facility committed to patient care and community safety. As a Team Lead Security (SOC) , you will play a vital leadership role in ensuring the security and safety of the hospital's patients, visitors, and staff. This position is ideal for a motivated individual with excellent communication skills, strong leadership ability, and a passion for coaching and development within a dynamic hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and training to security staff.
• Maintain professional deportment and customer service excellence as this is a front-facing role.
• Liaise with visitors, clients, and staff to resolve concerns and maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate issues or incidents promptly to the Site Coordinator.
• Document and investigate incidents and complaints in line with established procedures.
• Ensure completion of standing orders and daily operational tasks for each shift.
• Enforce Paladin Security and Baycrest Hospital policies and procedures.
• Operate and monitor security systems including CCTV, access control, fire and life safety systems.
• Make emergency overhead announcements when required.
• Answer phones and dispatch calls efficiently while managing incident coordination.
• Track deployment of security personnel and ensure site coverage.
• Manage Lost & Found, key issuance, and ID/access card distribution.
• Plan and implement shift schedules to ensure optimal coverage.
• Maintain training compliance and documentation for all officers.
• Conduct security audits and identify areas for improvement.
• Perform proactive and reactive patrols as needed to maintain safety.

Requirements

• Excellent deportment, customer service, and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Strong leadership abilities with a commitment to coaching and training
• Working knowledge of CCTV, access control systems, and other security equipment
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid CPR and First Aid Certification - Level C (WSIB-approved provider)
• Available for continental night shifts
• Immunization Record (TB 1+2, MMR, Varicella)
• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (two doses minimum)
• Vulnerable Sector Check (to be completed upon hire)
• Proficient in English (oral and written)
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in security
