Here Is What You Will Be Doing As an Analyst, Health Policy, you will be part of the Prevention and Cancer Control (P&CC) Portfolio, focusing on the delivery of four key cancer screening programs: ColonCancerCheck, Ontario Breast Screening Program, Ontario Cervical Screening Program, and the Ontario Lung Screening Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clinical and scientific leaders to develop, plan, and implement program policies and initiatives.
  • Engage with diverse stakeholders to build relationships and achieve consensus.
  • Conduct needs assessments, jurisdictional scans, policy briefs, options analyses, and impact assessments.
  • Monitor and synthesize information on clinical evidence, trends, and best practices.
  • Provide programmatic updates and feedback to management and stakeholders.

Education And Experience Here is what you will need to be successful:

  • An undergraduate degree in health sciences, health administration or a related field is required
  • A master’s degree in health sciences, health administration or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of related work experience

Knowledge And Skills

  • Experience formulating policy and working on policy initiatives, assessing impacts and conducting environmental scans and options analyses
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully execute on multiple large-scale, complex, high-risk projects, ideally within a cross-functional structure
  • An understanding of Ontario’s healthcare system including primary care, with particular emphasis on population and public health approaches, theory and practice
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare briefing notes, reports, policy papers and evidence summaries
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with demonstrated experience engaging and building relationships and consensus among diverse stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organization and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with cancer screening or cancer in Canada would be an asset
