PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This role is accountable for strategically acquiring, expanding, and nurturing high-value business and brokerage relationships within an assigned portfolio. The Senior Account Manager plays a pivotal role in driving performance across broker channels, leveraging deep market insights to influence outcomes and optimize growth. Regular travel is expected to reinforce key partnerships, represent the company at industry events, and elevate brand visibility. In addition, this position contributes to shaping a collaborative, results-driven sales culture by mentoring peers, sharing best practices, and aligning efforts with long-term profitability and sustainability goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

  • Lead and optimize broker relationships to drive strategic sales growth, long-term engagement, and portfolio profitability across assigned territories.
  • Develop and execute high-impact pipeline strategies, including broker acquisition, portfolio expansion, and identification of emerging business opportunities.
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to shape broker strategies that align with enterprise initiatives, product launches, and evolving market goals.
  • Analyze and act on key performance metrics such as retention, loss ratio, and revenue growth, using insights to refine tactics and improve outcomes.
  • Serve as a senior ambassador at industry and broker events, enhancing brand visibility, cultivating executive-level relationships, and gathering competitive intelligence.
  • Design and deliver advanced sales enablement resources, including broker training programs, performance tools, and consultative support to elevate broker capabilities.
  • Maintain and share deep market expertise, offering strategic guidance on competitive positioning, product evolution, and industry trends.
  • Contribute to sales operations, including mentoring of Account Managers, refining processes, and supporting broader business development efforts.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

  • Post-secondary education in business, finance, or a related field is considered strong asset.
  • Minimum 10 years of sales or business development experience within the P&C insurance sector, with a proven track record of exceeding growth targets and managing complex broker relationships.
  • CIP designation or additional industry credentials are required.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and networking abilities, with demonstrated success in cultivating high-value partnerships and driving both new and renewal business.
  • Strategic mindset with advanced business planning and market analysis skills to support long-term growth initiatives.
  • Expertise in negotiation, conflict resolution, and consultative selling, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate complex deal structures.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and organizational skills, capable of delivering insights and recommendations to internal and external audiences.
  • Self-directed and accountable, with a collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork and broker engagement.
  • Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments, adept at managing competing priorities and adapting to evolving market conditions.
