Quality Manager (QA-QC)

About the role

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading all Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities for MISTRAS operations in St-Lambert, Quebec. This role ensures compliance with corporate quality systems, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications, with a strong focus on the aerospace industry, including AS9100, NADCAP, and Transport Canada requirements.

The Quality Manager serves as the primary quality authority for the site, acting as a key liaison with customers, auditors, regulators, and corporate compliance, while driving continuous improvement, audit readiness, and operational excellence.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Quality Manager or senior quality role within a regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with AS9100, NADCAP, and aerospace quality systems.
  • Experience working with Transport Canada approvals and regulatory oversight.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility in scheduling (days/nights as required).
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Compliance with all MISTRAS Health and Safety requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Quality related experience. Exposure to metal finishing processes, (Anodize, Chemical Conversion, Coating Applications), NDT, etc. Familiar with Aerospace prime contractors, and Nadcap audit preparation experience.
  • HAZMAT certified
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Group facilitation skills
  • The ability to solve problems
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • The successful candidate must be able to deal with diverse work groups and work overtime as needed.

Essential Physical Functions

  • Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by client or company guidelines.
