About the role

Summary The Resource Planner will join part of a centralized team of planners, dedicated to manpower utilization and optimization at all.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Review and monitor assigned locations and PCs for manpower and overtime variances, utilizing manpower analysis data for all ground handling functions. Follow up with local management when the trend is negative and seek to formulate action plans for correction.
  • Support selected Company locations in the provision of optimized human resource planning and staff rostering utilizing the Company’s planning software tools.
  • Conduct “what if” scenarios to provide management information to support manpower decisions.
  • Utilize planning software to support the Finance and Commercial Departments to support costings.
  • Schedule and implement training on the use of Manpower Analysis (MIS) data with all local and General Managers. Establish acceptable criteria for variances and develop follow-up plans of action.
  • Proactively identify the functionality of planning software for application elsewhere within the Company’s operations.
  • Periodically liaise with Senior Management to discuss monthly results, problems, successes, etc. Develop communications that demonstrate support to problem locations and support to all ground services locations.
  • Conduct ad-hoc projects as may be assigned.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • All manpower planning and staff rosters deliver maximum human resource utilization within agreed-upon parameters.
  • Planning initiatives are implemented on time.
  • Ad-hoc projects are delivered on time and with agreed-upon and desired results.

Qualifications

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Experience needed in ground handling operations is sufficient to recognize a training institute and develop appropriate action plans to assist and support all ground handling locations. Incumbents must possess the ability to understand and analyze manpower data to recognize and prevent negative trends in manpower resource planning.
  • Excellent communications skill is required to develop a 2- way dialogue between upper, middle, and lower management. Knowledge of the operational workplace from experience in work environments is essential to win the support and confidence of field management in achieving our common goal of effective human resource allocation and maximum productivity.
  • Demonstrated experience in aviation ground handling operations or transportation/logistics staffing and/ or manpower planning is highly desirable. High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Excel, Word, and Access. Proficiency in the use of manpower analysis tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as ground handling agreements and operating and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
