Maintenance Supervisor - Afternoon Shift
About the role
As the Maintenance Supervisor- Afternoon Shift, you'll play a crucial role in leading and enhancing our maintenance and reliability program to ensure seamless production operations. This position focuses on optimizing equipment reliability, fostering a safety-first culture, and upholding the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Collaborating closely with the Maintenance & Reliability Manager, Maintenance Planner and the Dayshift Maintenance Supervisor you'll drive continuous improvement, preventative maintenance, and staff development to support our plant's performance and sustainability. We are seeking an experienced supervisor to join our innovative team as we develop and implement cutting-edge concepts for a smart factory as we prepare for the future.
Reporting to the Maintenance & Reliability Manager you will:
- Direct, supervise, and support the afternoon maintenance team, ensuring alignment with production goals.
- Schedule, delegate, and monitor maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and minimize downtime.
- Oversee and enhance the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program, ensuring maximum equipment availability and reliability.
- Plan, prioritize, and coordinate daily work orders, equipment repairs, and installations to reduce production disruptions.
- Develop and train maintenance staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and teamwork.
- Collaborate with team members to analyze root causes of downtime and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure high-quality execution of maintenance work, adhering to timelines and budget constraints.
- Analyze maintenance KPIs and operational data to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.
- Act as a liaison between maintenance, production, and other departments to address operational priorities and resolve issues effectively.
- Coordinate and select external contractors and vendors, ensuring quality work and compliance with company standards.
- Maintain accurate records for maintenance activities, regulatory inspections, and quality assurance audits.
- Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety and Food Safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a maintenance or reliability role, ideally within a food/beverage manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or similar industrial environment.
- Red Seal Certificate or equivalent qualification is required.
- Proven experience in supervising and coaching maintenance teams, with a strong track record of team development, performance management, and safety.
- Experience managing work orders, PMs, and maintenance materials using CMMS systems, preferably SAP.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, promoting collaboration and motivating teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS Software SAP PM Module is preferred, as well as other relevant software tools such as Maintenance Mobility and Planning Software.
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards is an asset.
