The Opportunity:
The Project Coordinator role is a valued member of the Finance team who will be working collaboratively with the Project Management team. the Project Coordinator is responsible for a wide variety of financial and administrative project deliverables ranging from payment applications and cash tracking to project reporting and documentation, bridging the gap between project management and finance through the project lifecycle.

Our ideal candidate will have financial experience, strong organizational and computer skills, and an ability to be extremely detail oriented. Moreover, the right fit for this position is extremely comfortable working cross-departmentally and will be a fundamental partner between construction and finance. Knowledge of construction management, project billing, or project management would be a huge lift. The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work with an innovative management team that encourages professional growth and development!

At Solvest, we rely on an all-encompassing ERP system, Acumatica, as our single source of truth for all financial and project data. The ideal candidate for this role is a quick learner with the ability to master new software systems swiftly. Prior experience with ERP systems is a significant advantage.

This is an office-based position that will require the successful candidate to work from our head office located in Whitehorse, Yukon.

Employment Status: Permanent Full Time – 40 hours per week plus opportunity for overtime

Wage Range: $30 - $45 per hour (based on experience) + annual profit-sharing bonus based on company profitability

Job Description:
The chosen candidate will be trained and expected to perform the following tasks:

  • Closely work with project managers, site supervisors, and the finance team to compile all required documentation for projects payment applications, submitting applications on or ahead of deadlines.
  • Actively update project cash tracking spreadsheets along with a weekly review per project.
  • Assist the Project Managers in drafting reports, plans, schedules, budgets, and other project-related documentation in the planning and execution phase of projects, when required.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting as related to projects.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standardized project documentation (eg. templates and forms).
  • Assist construction crews with any questions related to ERP timecards, expenses etc.
  • Act as the main point of the contact for users on ERP related questions within various project related modules.
  • Develop Playbooks/SOP’s for the Project Management module within the ERP system.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years accounting or relevant financial experience
  • Experience using ERP systems would be considered an asset
  • Experience in construction management, project management, or project billing would be considered an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams
  • Proficiency with various computer platforms including Google Workspace and Microsoft 365
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
