About the role

River Rock Casino Resort is recruiting for an experienced, service-oriented security professional to fill the role of Shift Manager, Security. In this role, you will be responsible for providing effective shift management. You will be assisting with the implementation of security initiatives, ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures, motivating and leading by example and providing a learning environment.

Duties and responsibilities for our Shift Manager, Security will include:

  • Providing leadership, direction and mentoring to the security operation on a shift basis as well as providing input for employee performance objectives and evaluations
  • Providing superior customer service satisfaction to all guests
  • Scheduling security employees at some locations
  • Assisting in the implementation of security strategic plans as directed
  • Responding to, resolving and escalating security issues as required; provides de-briefing on critical incidents
  • Reviewing inspection reports and taking appropriate action; escalating as required
  • Supporting the administration of access/key control systems
  • Conducting training for security operations; recommending training opportunities and efficiencies
  • Assisting with internal investigations by providing documentation, interviews, etc. as directed
  • Providing Theatre Operations with personal protection and/or additional venue security
  • Monitoring, documenting and preparing statements/reports on violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities
  • Preparing and submitting monthly Staff Resource Planning Proposals for special events and implements as directed
  • Communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Developing and cultivating strong working relationships with all stakeholders such as guests, the owners, and employees
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performing other duties as assigned or directed

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education or suitable combination of education and experience an asset
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in security or surveillance; minimum 1-year supervisory experience
  • SIR, Smart Serve or IGB certification
  • Must be willing to recertify every 3 years for Use of Force
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in other languages an asset
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
  • Ability to provide leadership in a team environment
  • Possess a high level of honesty and integrity
