DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide pharmaceutical care and service to patients/customers of the Prescription Care Centre retail pharmacy.
  • Provide drug information, patient medication counselling, advice and support regarding health aids.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to pharmacy technicians dispensing prescriptions and supporting all aspects of the operation of the Prescription Care Centre (including monthly Saturday shifts).
  • Liaise with various health care providers, external agencies and other staff as required for patient care ( e.g. regarding third party funding programs, special prescriptions, drug procurement, and other relevant issues).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a retail pharmacy, preferably with the ProPharm Nexxsys computer system.
  • Preference for completion of a pharmacy residency in hospital, ambulatory, community practice.
  • Excellent organization, communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills; and demonstrated ability to function in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of St. Michael's Hospital, pharmaceutical care and to continuous learning.
  • Demonstrated excellent attendance and reliability.
