JOB SUMMARY
As a Banquets Server, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional food and beverage service for weddings, private events and large-scale banquets in a stunning mountain environment. You’ll be a part of a collaborative team dedicated to creating memorable experiences for every guest, with a strong emphasis on warm hospitality and high service standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Greeting guests and representing the resort while embodying a warm, welcoming and proactive approach to hospitality
- Collaborate with kitchen and event staff to ensure high service standards with timely, courteous and professional food and beverage service
- Assist with set up and tear down of banquet rooms and event spaces according to event plans including table settings, linens, glassware and décor
- Anticipate and respond to guest needs with genuine care and attention to detail
- Ensure quality control of product provided
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas, both front and back of house
- Ordering of all relevant supplies from the storeroom
- Effectively and proactively managing feedback both internally and externally
- Other duties as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position reports to the Manager, Banquets & Full-Service Dining and does not require any direct supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
- Prior experience serving in a catering/banquet type environment preferred
- Food Safe Certificate preferred
- Serving It Right Certificate required (can be completed prior to starting work)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong teamwork
- A passion for hospitality and creating extraordinary guest experiences
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, high energy and strong work ethic
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required (please note: some evening shifts may end after public transit access has stopped to the mountain, so a vehicle or other means of transportation is preferred)
WORKING CONDITIONS
Banquet Servers must be flexible in terms of availability as most events and functions occur on evenings and weekends, typically involving working between 8 to 12 hours per shift. They may expect to be required to arrive early in the day for set-up and leave later in the evening following clean-up. You must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time and lift up to 20 lbs + as required.
Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$17.85/hour plus gratuities
