Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Registered Nurse as a Utilization Clinician to join Nursing Administrative team at Sechelt Hospital in Sechelt, B.C. Apply today to join our team!
As a Utilization Clinician with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:
- Work in collaboration with staff and leadership to lead and identify site-specific and system barriers to patient flow and assists to strategize, develop, and implement solutions to alleviate these barriers.
- Work in partnership with site leadership, responsible for the site-specific Alternate Levels of Care (ALC) data reliability for on-going site-specific ALC classification and education and is involved in the development, integration, and spread of proven system efficiency innovations throughout the Health Services Delivery Area (HSDA).
- Act as a resource to staff by consulting with direct care staff on professional practice issues in relation to interprofessional care planning, problem solving, and workflow.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Four (4) years’ recent, related experience in an acute/community care environment.
- One (1) years’ experience in a leadership role, including experience working with patient flow and systems analysis, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Comprehensive knowledge of Nursing theory and practice within patient/family centred model of care.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the BCCNM standards of practice for registered nurses.
- Broad knowledge of evidence-based nursing practice related to various patient population groups and demonstrated ability to apply knowledge to case management process.
- Broad knowledge of clinical pathways, expected length of stays, resource utilization, and patient assessment.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with individuals and teams in a complex environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of data analysis as it relates to utilization and benchmarks.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate, plan, develop, implement, organize, and problem solve.
- Demonstrate ability to implement and troubleshoot systems necessary to collect, maintain, and analyze data.
- Demonstrated commitment to change and process management and client focused service delivery in a highly dynamic environment.
- Leadership skills and ability to work independently and/or team environment.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and ability to operate in a dynamic workplace with changing priorities.
- Ability to operate related equipment including related computer software programs (such as PARIS and/or Medworxx).
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
