BPK advances the study of physiology, anatomy, neuroscience, human movement, and health through research, education, and service. About the Role

Advises potential and registered undergraduate students of the academic requirements for the BPK programs: Biomedical Physiology major/minor, Kinesiology major/minor, and Behavioural Neuroscience major, Second-degree Program, Professional Transfer, Post Baccalaureate Diploma, undergraduate certificate programs, and Kinesiology minor and screens applications for undergraduate study. Assists the Manager in administering the undergraduate registration process, programs of study, and graduation activities, checks the accuracy of transfer credits, and liaises with Student Services Admissions and other Undergraduate Advisors.

BPK serves a large and dynamic community, with more than 1,300 undergraduate students. The department’s size and pace require an Advisor who can work effectively under pressure, apply and uphold policies consistently, and exercise sound judgment. Because the role is fast‑paced, strong time‑management and organizational skills are essential. An effective Advisor balances compassion for students with the need to maintain fairness and integrity in decision‑making. Ultimately, the Advisor is a key advocate for students, supporting their success while ensuring departmental and university standards are upheld.
