This is a full-time position reporting to the Plant Manager. As production control scheduler your role includes all aspects of production orders (firming, releasing, scheduling, expedites, premium, key customers), managing D365/MES messages (holds, cancellations, action), communicating delivery issues to sales and completing reports.
Key Activities
Production Scheduling
-
Firm all new planned orders daily.
-
Review material requirements.
-
Process and communicate orders to place on hold due to material shortages.
-
Process and communicate any order cancellations received from sales.
-
Process any expedites or premium order requests as required.
-
Review all master planning D365 actions daily.
-
Print off MIP’s with correct item number, staple with traveler in correct order.

Release orders to production
Production Control
- Review and process any production order material substitutions.
- Review and process any new HCN’s issues to Walkerton BOM’s.
- Process production order RAF (report as finished) transactions and errors.
- Review and make necessary production BOM updates and back flush materials as required for any of the above 3 scenarios including weekly hardware, MTG and steel review.
- Review weekly “Ending Errors” list from MES coordinator and review all production order journals and transactions for issues and process corrections.
- Process any scrap journals as a result of production NMR’s.
- Review daily all unposted production job journals and process necessary corrections.
- Labour correction journals.
Reporting and other Duties

Create open orders report and review weekly key customer orders and shipments and update.

Review weekly the negative on-hand report and process necessary corrections.

Respond to production control emails, expedite requests, premium order requests from sales.

Communicate any production order expedite or BOM changes to production supervisors.

Communicate any material or date changes that impact purchase orders to the purchasing team.
Health & Safety
-
Always follow all Health & Safety policies, procedures and SPI’s including PPE’s (Personal Protective Equipment), MSDS, WHIMIS etc.

Report all injuries, health and safety infractions or any perceived unsafe working conditions to either you supervisor or any JHSC (Joint Health & Safety Committee) member

Perform daily pre-start inspections on required maintenance equipment at the start of each shift
Education:
-
High School (Grade 12)

College Diploma/ Associates degree/ Certification
Previous Experience Required:
2 to 5 years Scheduling experience
