About the role
##DESCRIPTION
The Demand Forecasting and Guidance (DFG) team within Amazon Ads Demand Tech is seeking a software engineer to drive industry-leading campaign forecasting and recommendation solutions. This role sits at the intersection of ads technology (Agentic LLM), science, product, UI/UX, and business strategy, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of forecasting and recommendations at scale.
You will design, build, and experiment with solutions that bridge forecasting and guidance algorithms with scalable, user-centric applications. Your work will ensure technical architecture supports accurate predictions while delivering actionable insights through intuitive interfaces.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical skills in distributed systems, possesses knowledge of both front-end and back-end technologies, and excels at collaborating across teams. You'll balance technical excellence with business acumen, partnering across organizations to deliver solutions that drive revenue growth.
This role offers the opportunity to lead complex technical initiatives, mentor team members, and make a significant impact on Amazon's advertising platform at scale.
Key job responsibilities
-
Design and implement scalable APIs and microservices for real-time forecasting and recommendations
-
Develop efficient data pipelines and storage solutions to process large-scale advertising campaign data
-
Collaborate with scientists to translate statistical models and algorithms into production-ready systems
-
Participate in the team's on-call rotation, actively monitor system health, respond to operational events, and drive continuous improvements to reduce operational burden through runbook enhancements and ticket triage.
-
Contribute to team velocity goals by maintaining a healthy development pipeline, removing blockers, and ensuring timely delivery of features and fixes in alignment with organizational commitments.
-
Own and optimize infrastructure costs by identifying and eliminating waste, right-sizing resources, and contributing to cost reduction goals without compromising reliability or performance.
-
Drive timely infrastructure upgrades including hardware refreshes, software version updates, and dependency migrations to ensure systems remain current, supportable, and performant.
-
Ensure systems and services meet security and compliance standards by remediating vulnerabilities, and adhering to organizational security policies and audit requirements.
-
Build Agentic solutions to automate triage process, patch and EOL management, cost anomaly detection, ticket deflection, and security compliance remediation — to significantly reduce operational toil and keep systems healthy at scale.
