Role Overview Reporting to the Manager, Data Science, the AI Technical Specialist will make hands on contributions to automate intake capture and analysis of ongoing and planned AI initiatives at Teck.
You will build and run the intake agents, dashboards, and AI tool usage telemetry to create visibility into the performance of Teck’s AI portfolio. You turn AI process and governance decisions into working systems.
Teck’s AI Office is establishing clear visibility and pragmatic guardrails for AI across the company.
This is an initial 12-month contract to start with a strong possibility of extension based on program needs.

Key Resposibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
- Build, configure and maintain the Intake agent (process logic, permissions, validation, workflows/notifications).
- Build and own datasets/dashboards for initiative portfolio, adoption, usage, and value indicators; establish refresh schedules and data quality checks.
- Implement lightweight metadata standards (owners, lifecycle stage, evidence links, compliance flags) to support audit readiness.
- Ensure tooling respects data governance and security standards (access controls, retention, sensitivity labels, least‑privilege).
- Integrate with existing security/privacy processes (e.g., evidence links, approval records) and surface compliance coverage in dashboards.
- Support AI tool rollout: coordinate with IT/Infrastructure on tenant readiness, licensing views, and telemetry; build adoption/usage reports and value snapshots.
- Create quick‑start guides and how‑to artifacts for intake, dashboards, and AI tool usage analytics.
- Analyze usage patterns (e.g., feature adoption by function, query volumes, opt‑in/opt‑out trends) to inform training, guardrails, and prioritization.
- Produce reporting artifacts (dashboards, one‑pagers) and work with the AI Program Coordinator to land insights with leadership.
- Provide Tier‑2 support for intake/reporting tools; manage change requests and backlog; track SLAs for data refresh and defect resolution.
- Provide hands on support for high impact initiatives and teams in strategically important areas to provision and configure agents.
Qualifications
- 4–7 years in technical operations/engineering or analytics roles with hands‑on experience in integrating diverse data sources for telemetry reporting.
- Strong grasp of access control, data classification/sensitivity, and basic privacy/security practices; able to implement them in Microsoft 365.
- Ability to turn ambiguous reporting needs into robust datasets and visuals; comfortable with stakeholder demos and iterative delivery.
- Exposure to M365/Copilot admin and telemetry sources; familiarity with tenant configuration considerations.
- Scripting for automation, data wrangling, and analysis.
- Experience in enterprise environments with audit requirements.
