We are seeking a candidate with deep expertise in Asset Information Management throughout the full asset lifecycle. In this role, you will focus on developing, implementing, and sustaining a robust system for managing technical documentation and asset data from projects and maintenance activities. The successful candidate will oversee the organization, distribution, and governance of all drawings, documents, and data within the Sales & Marketing Organization, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and asset data requirements.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure seamless record turnover and effective use of asset data for operations, maintenance, and future project planning.
Minimum Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in Asset Information Management, Document Control, Master Data, or related fields within engineering or project environments
- Post-secondary education in Business, Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related discipline
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Power BI, Power Automate, AutoCAD and other electronic document / data management software & tools
- Experience or working knowledge of EDMS platforms and databases.
- Strong understanding of engineering terminology and project deliverables
- Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and precision
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated team player with strong collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain an Asset Information Management System to control and sustain project documentation and asset data.
- Support project teams and engineering consultants in setting up and managing the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), including naming conventions, issuing, storage, and long-term sustainment of all documentation (e.g., drawings, specs, manuals, reports).
- Manage the full lifecycle of controlled documents: creation, revision, review, obsolescence, and publishing.
- Ensure asset data for new and existing facilities is accurately defined and captured to support preventive maintenance and evolving business needs.
- Interpret project-specific requirements and align them with lifecycle methodologies and information management standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver document control and turnover services throughout the asset lifecycle.
- Conduct quality checks on documentation processes across project teams, maintenance, engineering consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Periodically review processes and standards to identify improvements and implement corrective actions to maintain system quality.
- Maintain performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools to track adherence, progress, and approvals.
- Support regulatory compliance through accurate documentation and data integrity.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data management standards, practices, and protocols.
- Provide training and support on asset information management processes to internal and external stakeholders
Location and other Key Details:
- You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
- This is an office-based role with regular overnight travel throughout Canada
- Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
