Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable Clerk – Maternity Leave Cover to provide temporary coverage. This role is responsible for managing accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process high volumes of vendor invoices with accuracy and efficiency
- Match, batch, and code invoices in accordance with company policies
- Verify approvals and ensure proper supporting documentation is obtained
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all transactions
- Assist with month-end closing, including accruals and reporting
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies
- Support the finance team with additional administrative tasks as required
Qualifications & Skills
- Must be eligible to work in Canada - can provide SIN documentation
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and AP processes
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Teams
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field
