Job Description
The FCSS department provides social services to the residents of the County. Programs are directed towards seniors, children, youth, families, and volunteers to promote their social and emotional well-being.
We are seeking an experienced individual to join the County of Grande Prairie as our Home Support Program Assistant to provide program and administrative support to the Home Support Program Coordinator by supporting administrative needs of the home support program and working with home support coordinator to best support home support clients and staff.
Job Duties and Tasks:

Provide front reception customer service coverage as needed, by greeting walk-in customers, answering phones and directing clients to appropriate staff and or/agencies, taking payments and reconciliation

Responding to client calls regarding accounts

Database entry
-
Updating client files as necessary
-
Receive and process payments for programs and services
-
Source and secure training and learning opportunities for home support staff

Book training and venues
-
Assist in creating and updating training binders for all staff
-
Ongoing assessment to ensure that information and training provided to staff is relevant and meeting their needs to be successful in their role

Assisting with planning, set-up/ take down, implementation and evaluation of projects, workshops, seminars and special events

Participate in special projects as requested by the immediate supervisor or FCSS Director

Other duties as assigned by the Home Support Program Coordinator
Qualifications
-
Certificate or Diploma in Office Administration or the human services field and/or equivalent experience
-
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an office environment within the human social services field
-
Experience working with seniors, families and organizations
-
Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office
-
Understanding of the Home Support Program
-
Knowledge of social systems and issues relevant to rural communities
-
Valid Alberta driver’s license
-
A reliable vehicle that is sufficiently registered and insured, as travel is required
-
Clean Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search, prior to hire

Hours of work: This position works Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm for 35 hours per week. Overtime at a 1.5x rate.

Pay rate: $35.66 to $41.95 per hour.
