Position Overview: The Overage, Shortage & Damage Clerk (OS&D Clerk) is responsible for monitoring, investigating, and resolving all freight discrepancies, including overages, shortages, and damages. This role ensures accurate documentation, timely communication, and effective coordination between dock staff, drivers, carriers, and customers.

The OS&D Clerk maintains detailed records, supports the claims team as required, and supports operational integrity by identifying issues, preventing recurring errors, and contributing to efficient freight flow. A strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability, and commitment to customer service are essential for success in this position.

Location: Moncton, NB
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pm

Responsibilities:

  • Review Armour and interline manifests daily for any discrepancies and update in system

  • Download pictures each morning and email to head office

  • Review the OS&D report each morning

  • Take inventory of the OS&D section each morning to ensure you have information on the freight

  • Work on any "freight no bills" product that is on the dock ASAP to get the freight moving to the customer

  • Contact shipper/interline for return auth for all refused freight from customers within the proper time frame

  • Write up paperwork for any return product and give to data entry to be inputted

  • Ensure return freight properly labelled

  • Do dock walks in the morning and afternoon

  • Ensure the OS&D cage is kept clean and tidy

  • Reply to emails and phone messages in a timely manner

Qualifications:

Essential Competencies:

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Ability to investigate and analyze discrepancies.

  • Basic knowledge of transportation documents (BOLs, manifests, proof of delivery).

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Technical Skills

  • Computer literacy and a strong understanding of Microsoft Office are required.

  • Experience and understanding of the Truck Mate system are considered an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced environment.
  • A high volume of communication, including via email and phone.
