Work Arrangements: Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement (combination of working onsite and telework). Employees in this position who telework will be required to travel to the identified work site at least three times per week or a minimum of 60% of their regular work schedule at their own expense.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Corporate Applications Project Manager to support our Knowledge, Information and Technology Services (KITS) branch. The selected candidate would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

The successful candidate will guide and provide oversight for the acquisition, planning, development, implementation and maintenance of IT applications; involves a continuous study and assessment of trends and developments.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead and oversee corporate application projects from initiation through completion, ensuring timely delivery in alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, budgets, milestones, and resource allocations to optimize project execution.
  • Provide strategic advice to executive team on application roadmap and modernization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to assess, integrate, and implement IT application solutions, including conducting cost-benefit analyses and managing resources efficiently to ensure client objectives are met.
  • Monitor progress, address risks, facilitate communication, and ensure compliance with industry standards and project management best practices.
  • Prepares requests for proposals (RFPs) and supports the process to obtain IT application services and products.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, such as statements of problems, work breakdown structures, schedules, charts, and progress reports, utilizing a variety of project management tools for effective analysis and communication.
  • Facilitate regular workshops and meetings with stakeholders, project managers, and executives to maintain alignment, secure commitment, and proactively resolve issues throughout the project life cycle.

Screening Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:

Education

Degree from a recognized university in computer science, engineering, management information systems, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position.

A diploma from a recognized college or post-secondary institute in an IT related field combined with extensive experience (at least 5 years) in a Project Management field may be considered.

Senior Project Manager candidates should also have a Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification. Additional certification in project management specialties, such as the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) designation, is preferable.

Experience

  • Extensive** experience managing multiple concurrent IT projects from initiation through deployment, including planning, team management, resource allocation, procurement, ensuring stakeholder engagement.

  • Experience in determining project budgetary requirements and managing allocated funds for IT development projects, including estimating and tracking financial resources, recommending and monitoring expenditures for equipment and services within approved limits.

  • Recent*** experience providing expert advice on application development and the strategic role of IT solutions in organizational planning.

  • Significant* experience leading, motivating, and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance.

  • Experience initiating contract processes for the provision of IT applications services and products.

  • Significant experience is defined as having the depth and breadth of experience that would normally have been gained performing the duties over a period of three (3) years or more.

** Extensive experience is a minimum of 5 years experience

*** Recent is defined as experience acquired within the last five (5) years.

Assets:

Experience in the following areas is not required, but would be considered an asset:

  • Experience in a federal government environment or public sector would be an asset.

  • Firm knowledge of project management methodologies, including cost-benefit analysis, resource management, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of project requirements gathering, analysis and validation
  • Knowledge of IT application development practices and processes, enabling effective assessment of future IT applications solutions and their seamless integration into existing IT framework and service delivery process.
  • Knowledge of IT application testing strategies, approaches and methodologies.
  • Ability to implement and support complex enterprise software systems.
  • Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills and techniques in the conduct of consultations and negotiations with clients, contractors, suppliers and senior management.

Compensation

From $118,246 to $142,767 per annum.
