About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Shipper/Receiver to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for unloading trucks carrying raw materials, organizing inventory in the warehouse, and loading trucks to/from subcontractors. Additionally, you'll handle the receipt of incoming shipments into our CMS. If you're someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working hands-on, we want to hear from you!
Required Education & Experience
- Must have a valid forklift certification
- Minimum 3-4 years forklift experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Ability to follow well defined procedures, with organization skills
- Ability to use computer inventory system; experience with CMS is an asset
Essential Functions
- Receive material into CMS
- Prepare/stage product for outgoing shipments. Load and ship product as per outgoing CMS picksheet
- Ensure material is put away safely into proper areas. Maintain empty bins location to ensure bin availability for production use
- Ensure that product is dispersed or consumed based on FIFO
- Complete the necessary documentation; forklift checklist
- Ensure the safe operation of forklift at all times; abide by safety training and regulations
- Receive inbound trucks (receiving components/sub-contractor parts/empty bins/steel coils/oils/etc.
- Loading and unloading milk run trucks and creating packing slips for outgoing produc
- Provide back-up assistance for shipping/drop zone department as required
- Maintain and organize work area for smooth and efficient workplace and for safety measures
- Check customer portals as required
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (with emphasis on Section 28)
- Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental Systems, HR policies and Martinrea Employee Handbook
Work Environment
- 100% Plant floor (PPE required)
- Travel Required to warehouse if needed
- Constant communication with employees, peers and management
- Overtime as required
Physical Demands
- Ability to be present on the production floor daily
- Must be able to lift up to 35lbs.
- Must be able to work with push pull forces of up to 50lbs. or less
Health & Safety
- Must work in accordance with H&S regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
- Must use or wear PPE and certain clothing as required by the Company
