**Your Day-to-Day as a Millwright:
Safety**
- Actively participates in Drax Safety culture through DATS for safety conversations, observations, and training.
- Supports leadership in mentoring and training employees, ensuring proper documentation and competence.
- Maintains high housekeeping standards in the department with team involvement.
- Utilizes SDS for chemical safety training for all employees.
- Completes safety-related Plant Operator Development Program requirements.
- Communicates clearly and concisely on company radios in line with Drax’s procedures.
- Actively engages in Drax's OH&S Committee.
**Technical
Routine Daily Maintenance (75%)**
- Conducts regular maintenance on machines to uphold safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Installs, inspects, and repairs a variety of mechanical equipment, collaborating with other trades to enhance efficiency and safety.
Shutdown and Strategic Capital Projects (15%)
- Assists in project planning and execution, ensuring safety, quality, and timeliness in collaboration with team members.
Mentorship and Leadership to Maintenance Staff (10%)
- Champions the Drax Safety Program and mentors Millwright Apprentices in their professional development.
What you’ll bring: To excel in this vital role, you’ll need:
- Red Seal Certified Millwright
- 5+ years in heavy industry (pellet, particle board, or fibre board preferred).
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with wet precipitators and heavy industry operations is advantageous.
- Proficient in mobile equipment operation and work order systems.
- Independent worker and adaptable to schedule changes.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Valid Driver’s license.
