About Burlington Hall Swim School:
Burlington Hall Sporting Club launched Burlington Hall Swim School, and we are looking for qualified, reliable, and energetic Swim Instructors to join our Aquatics Team.
This is an opportunity to be part of a growing swim school in the heart of Burlington! Our instructors will play an important role in teaching children water safety, swimming fundamentals, confidence, and proper technique in a safe, structured, and positive environment.
We are looking for instructors who are professional, strong communicators, confident working with children, and committed to creating an excellent experience for every swimmer and family.
Responsibilities:
Remaining attentive and alert during all lessons/lifeguarding shifts. Teach group, semi-private, and private swim lessons to children of various ages and skill levels. Provide safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate swim instruction. Follow Life Saving Society (LSS) lesson plans, safety procedures, and program standards. Evaluate swimmers’ progress and provide clear feedback to supervisors, parents, and participants when required. Maintain a safe and organized pool environment before, during, and after lessons. Communicate professionally with families, swimmers, supervisors, and other aquatics staff. Ensure all swimmers are supervised appropriately and that safety remains the top priority at all times. Assist with class transitions, attendance, equipment setup, and cleanup. Represent Burlington Hall Sporting Club in a professional and positive manner. Fulfilling progress reports and report cards. Cleaning the deck and organizing equipment in the pool room. Responsible for all swimmers and bathers in the pool and on the deck. Pool testing.
Qualifications
Valid Life Saving Society Swim Instructor certification required. Standard First Aid with CPR-C required. National Lifeguard certification is considered a strong asset. Previous swim instruction, lifeguarding, coaching, camp, or childcare experience is an asset. Experience working with children is strongly preferred. Must be reliable, punctual, professional, and safety-focused. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to work evenings and/or weekends. A vulnerable sector check may be required prior to employment.
