The role
We’re hiring an Account Executive / Business Development leader to drive growth with financial institutions and family offices across Canada, the U.S., and international markets. This is a senior individual contributor role with meaningful ownership and direct impact on growth—ideal for someone who can originate new opportunities, build a targeted book of strategic accounts, run high-quality discovery, and consistently create momentum with senior stakeholders.
Because we’re scaling, this role will also include customer success coverage at the beginning—supporting existing clients, driving adoption, and identifying expansion opportunities—while we continue to build out the function.
Key responsibilities
- Create, manage, and prioritize a targeted list of strategic accounts aligned with our commercial strategy across Canada.
- Conduct high-level discovery and engage key stakeholders across private banks, wealth management teams, family offices, and other financial institutions (business owners, advisors, operations, IT/security, compliance, and executives); lead compelling pitches and product demonstrations—virtually and in person—tailored to each audience and buying stage.
- Build and maintain account intelligence: perform research, map stakeholders, add contacts, track activity, and collaborate internally on territory planning and deal strategy.
- Help shape outbound messaging and prospecting tactics that resonate in the Canadian wealth management market; contribute to regional campaign ideas and iteration.
- Drive opportunities forward from discovery through decision—coordinate demos, align stakeholders, build business cases and proposals, and maintain clear next steps; partner with leadership on executive alignment, pricing strategy, and final negotiations when appropriate.
- Support existing clients (initially): run check-ins, manage follow-ups, drive adoption, capture product feedback, and surface expansion and renewal opportunities in collaboration with leadership.
- Be the voice of the customer internally: bring structured feedback and market insights to product and leadership to improve retention, competitiveness, and win rates.
- Maintain pipeline discipline with clean CRM habits, accurate forecasting, and clear close plans.
Who you are
- Top-performing AE/BD leader who’s hands-on—prospecting, pitching, and driving deals forward—and motivated by ownership and impact in a scaling company.
- 3-5+ years of experience in outbound sales or business development, ideally in SaaS, fintech, or financial services, with exposure to complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
- Strong interest in wealth management, portfolio management, or investment technology (direct experience is a plus; genuine curiosity and learning speed are essential).
- Proactive and goal-oriented—you enjoy building pipelines, opening doors, and turning ambiguity into a clear plan.
- Excellent communicator (written and verbal) with a confident, polished, professional presence with senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with product and leadership in a fast-moving environment.
- Organized and structured: you bring strong follow-through, thoughtful prioritization, and a repeatable operating cadence.
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRMs is a plus.
- Fluent in English and French (spoken and written).
- Based in Montreal and comfortable working hybrid; able to travel within Canada as needed.
