Skilled Labourer or Apprentice Carpenter
About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Apprentice Carpenter / Skilled Labourer with a strong work ethic, the desire to be part of a team, and the skills to assist in the construction of residential and commercial properties in the Saskatoon region.
As a member of our team, you will provide insight and innovative solutions to ensure the successful construction of our commercial and residential properties.
Summary Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Apprentice Carpenter / Skilled Labourer selected will be responsible for the quality control of all homes constructed in a the community, ensuring the compliance with local building code and company safety policy. The Apprentice Carpenter / Skilled Labourer is also responsible for general site maintenance and clean-up as needed.
Responsibilities
- Work in labour and apprentice carpentry scopes of work for residential and commercial construction.
- Assist in tasks such as housekeeping, quality management and safety of all buildings constructed in a project
- Perform touch ups and repairs on sub-trade deficiencies
- Carpentry work that falls outside of the scope of work of subcontractors
- Proficient knowledge and use of power tools such as air nailers, skill saw, screw gun
- Support the WCC team as needed for the project lifecyle
- Other tasks as required by the site foreman
Requirements
- 2+ years of construction labour and/or carpentry experience
- Experience in residential construction is an asset
- Good verbal communication skills
- Understanding of how to use small tools and power tools
- Highly organized, results-oriented and able to work in a multi-functional team environment
- Great work ethic and willingness to be a team player
- Appearance must be neat, clean and professional
- Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license
