Maintenance Manager

Role Description The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations across seniors living communities to ensure safe, comfortable, and well-functioning facilities. This full-time, on-site role, based in the Greater Calgary Metropolitan Area, includes planning and coordinating preventive maintenance schedules, supervising maintenance staff and contractors, and ensuring timely repair of building systems, equipment, and grounds. The Maintenance Manager monitors maintenance requests, prioritizes tasks, and maintains accurate records of work orders, inspections, and inventory. The role also involves supporting regulatory and safety compliance, participating in emergency response, and collaborating with operations and care teams to minimize disruptions for residents. Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Maintenance Management and Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, scheduling, and performance oversight. Candidates should possess Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair skills to diagnose issues and complete or oversee quality repairs on building systems and assets. Candidates should possess Preventive Maintenance skills to develop and implement proactive maintenance plans that minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Relevant experience in property, facility, or building maintenance, preferably in seniors housing, healthcare, hospitality, or multi-residential environments. Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), safety regulations, and applicable codes; ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Proficiency with maintenance management software, digital work order systems, and basic computer applications. Valid driver’s license and the ability to perform hands-on maintenance tasks as needed; trade certification or technical diploma in a related field is an asset.
