Aluminum Sawyer (2 positions, Category A wage)
Requirements
- Grade 12 general education or equivalent;
- Ability to read production drawings and technical plans;
- Ability to use a computer to perform required tasks;
- Physical ability to transport and manually handle loads;
- Ability to use a measuring tape;
- Ability to operate an overhead crane;
- Ability to read and good manual dexterity;
- Ability to learn and work effectively as part of a team.
Main Duties
- Identify aluminum extrusions, measure and mark them according to production drawings or technical plans;
- Set up and safely operate the aluminum saw in accordance with procedures;
- Manually verify the dimensions of cut pieces to ensure both measurements are identical;
- Cut bars or frames to the required angles and dimensions and record the contract number on the cut bars or frames;
- Safely use various tools to assemble extrusion components;
- Use the overhead crane to move aluminum frames;
- Bring aluminum extrusions stored outdoors into the plant;
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.
