Job Description The Opportunity: WSP is actively engaged in supporting Canadian Nuclear Laboratories through the Port Hope Area Initiative and currently has an opening for a Junior Environmental Technician at our Port Hope office. Join our expanding team, where your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of one of Canada’s most prominent remediation projects. As a member of the Environmental Management team in Ontario, you’ll play a key role in advancing our ambitious geo-environmental multidisciplinary services, collaborating with a dedicated group of engineering specialists, professionals, and technical staff.

WeAre WSP What you can expect to do here:

  • Providing technical services in both the field and office environment related to environmental science and engineering.
  • Carrying out fieldwork (e.g. soils sampling through test pit excavations or borehole drilling, subcontractor supervision, and drilling investigations, etc.) under the supervision of, and upon receiving training from, more experienced colleagues.
  • Limited report preparation and analysis of information.
  • Maintaining excellent field notes and collecting and handling soil samples while adhering to project and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervising subcontractors for ground disturbance and utility location, borehole drilling, and hydrovac excavation.
  • Participating and contributing to a team environment and being a strong communicator.
  • Adhering to site-specific health and safety plans to mitigate or eliminate risks to you, WSP's clients, employees, and the public.
