Intermediate Real Estate Lawyer

About the role
You’ve been practicing law for a few years. You’ve seen contracts, closings, and title searches. You know what smooth closings look like and what sloppy ones cost.
You thrive on solving practical legal problems. Drafting a complex purchase agreement excites you. Coordinating between lenders, clients, and other lawyers energizes you. You notice gaps in processes, and while you don’t live in spreadsheets, you instinctively know how a better system would make everyone’s life easier.
You’re ready for the next step: a role where your judgment matters, your files are varied, and your work is supported by strong operations so you can focus on the law, not chasing signatures or cleaning up preventable errors.
What this role actually is
This is a full-practice role for an intermediate lawyer in residential and select commercial property transactions. You’ll handle transactions from contract to closing, advise clients on legal obligations, liaise with lenders, and ensure compliance with Ontario real estate law.
You’ll work with a structured operations team who manages filings, trust account processing, and data entry, so your time is spent on legal work, not administrative firefighting.
You’ll get guidance from senior lawyers while having autonomy to manage your own files. Each deal brings new challenges, and you’ll be supported by systems and processes that let you focus on your clients and your craft.
This role is for you if
- You have 3–7 years of Ontario residential real estate law experience.

- You are organized, proactive, and capable of spotting risks before they become problems.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment with strong operations support.
- You’re comfortable with structured processes and tech tools that help streamline transactions.
This role is not for you if
- You want to focus solely on billing hours rather than delivering results.
- You prefer a chaotic or loosely structured work environment.
- You’re looking for a purely remote role, this position is Oakville-based with some hybrid flexibility.
