About this role
Roy Foss Thornhill is seeking an experienced and professional Trim Technician. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years’ experience in this role. This individual is passionate, professional, has a positive attitude, and shares our obsession with customer service. If this sounds like you, come join our team!
Primary Job Responsibilities Include:
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and complete necessary repairs across all major automotive systems.
- Inspect mechanical components (e.g., engines, transmissions, brakes), conduct road tests, and perform safety inspections to identify faults or required service.
- Repair or replace parts related to fuel, brakes, suspension, drive train, emissions, cooling, electrical, and more using specialized tools.
- Clearly explain diagnoses and repair procedures to Service Advisors and ensure accurate documentation of work performed.
- Support the service team by completing assigned tasks and assisting with other duties as needed to ensure smooth shop operations.
- Repairs conducted as per factory processes, policies and procedures.
What we're looking for:
- Licensing & Certifications: Valid G driver’s license, ODP License, and Automotive Service Technician (310S) certification or eligibility.
- Trim Technician experience is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in diagnosing and servicing transmissions, steering, suspension, and brakes; able to operate both manual and automatic vehicles.
- Knowledge of computer software updates and programming vehicle onboard computer modules
- Test and adjust units to specifications for the proper performance
- Safety & Compliance: Completion of WHMIS and hoist training is an asset; adherence to safety standards and industry regulations is expected.
- Communication & Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills, upbeat attitude, and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Availability & Education: Completion of secondary school required; must be computer literate and available for flexible hours, including evenings and rotating Saturdays.
