Fresh Advancements is an importer and wholesaler of fresh produce at the Ontario Food Terminal. Our product line includes conventional and organic produce, including, celery, citrus, apples, cherries and assorted berries. Fresh Advancements' customers enjoy access to major growers from across North America.
Job brief
Out company is looking for a detailed oriented Quality Control Specialist (QC).
Responsibilities
- Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPS)
- Pre-sanitize check to ensure the product is ready for production
- Keep track & record of product description details, ie. Temperature etc.
- Conduct regular check on both raw material and finished product in accordance with the quality standard
- Assure the quality of produce entering the warehouse and advise if the product should be accepted or rejected
- Screen out products with deficiencies
- Liaison with shipping & receiving department and purchasing agents for any product concerns
Job Terms
- Job Type: Permanent Full-time, 40 hours per week, adjustment pending on business need
- Probationary Period: 3-months or 480 hours, whichever longer
- Work Location: Ontario Food Terminal, 165 The Queens Way, Etobicoke ON, M8Y 1H8
- Shift Requirement: Must be flexible on Sunday to Fridays depending on operation needs
- Compensation: TBD
- Benefits: Group Benefits entitlement upon completion of probation time
Qualifications
- Strong & comprehensive knowledge on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- College or equivalent diploma required
- Produce experience required
- Experience with Internal Auditing as an asset
- Preference to candidates who has or working towards to HACCP
