About the role

Weir Minerals Clayton, VIC Onsite Weir Minerals is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Facility Technician to join our inclusive and collaborative team at the Weir Technical Centre in Clayton, Victoria.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative mineral processing projects while developing a broad range of technical skills.

You will perform routine testing, analysis and maintenance activities on Weir equipment and pilot plant test rigs for processing of mineral slurries. Equipment includes but is not limited to hydro-cyclones, slurry pumps, slurry pipelines, mixers, thickeners, decanter centrifuges, filter press and other equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
  • Supporting safe and efficient operations across our pilot plant and laboratory facilities.
  • Conducting equipment setup, basic maintenance, and test work.
  • Preparing samples and performing lab tests such as particle size analysis.
  • Handling materials and documentation in line with Weir’s standards.
  • Collaborating with engineers and technicians to improve safety and performance.
  • Learning new skills and adapting to evolving project needs.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Confidence using hand and power tools; basic fabrication skills are a plus.
  • Ability to read and follow safety and operating procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Physical capability to meet the demands of the role.
