About the role
Job Description As a Material Manager , you will plan and coordinate one or several of the following functions: expediting, receiving, warehousing, and issuing of materials, in accordance with the program’s work schedules and the requests from various production departments.
More Specifically, You Will Be Responsible For
- Planning and coordinating the transportation, delivery, receiving, and warehousing of program-related materials.
- Identifying material and equipment needs and ensuring availability according to project priorities.
- Maintaining data integrity in the system and managing the material status list (tracking shortages, purchases, etc.).
- Coordinating technical clarifications, managing government-furnished goods (GFG) and test equipment.
- Monitoring inbound and outbound shipments and ensuring the smooth operation of satellite and onboard stores.
- Analyzing reports to identify delays, proposing alternative solutions, and updating material lists.
- Managing inventory (obsolescence, shelf life, scrap) as well as non-conformities (NCRs) and corrective actions (CARs).
- Ensuring compliance with contractual and ITAR requirements and participating in program review meetings.
- Defining and communicating daily priorities to buyers, shippers, material coordinators, and storekeepers.
- Contributing to the successful execution of the project in collaboration with the program team and procurement.
Qualifications
- College diploma (DEC) or a university certificate/Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (procurement, inventory management).
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Experience in the marine industry is an asset.
- Bilingual (essential).
- Demonstrated autonomy.
- Strong analytical skills.
