Role Description The DevOps Engineer role is a full-time hybrid position based in Toronto, ON, with the flexibility to work partially from home. In this role, the DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure provisioning, and support scalable, secure deployments across multiple environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing Linux-based systems, collaborating with development and operations teams to improve reliability and performance, and monitoring production systems to ensure high availability. The DevOps Engineer will also contribute to infrastructure as code practices, assist in incident resolution, optimize build and release processes, and document workflows and standards to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills, with experience using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies. Candidates should possess Software Development skills, including scripting or programming in languages such as Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript to build automation and tooling. Candidates should possess Continuous Integration skills, including experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps. Candidates should possess System Administration and Linux skills, with hands-on experience managing, securing, and troubleshooting Linux-based servers in production environments. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar) is highly beneficial. Strong problem-solving abilities, collaborative communication skills, and a track record of working effectively in cross-functional engineering teams. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience in DevOps or site reliability engineering.
