Reporting to the Head of Cooperation, the Cooperative Advisor is part of a multifunctional team responsible for developing and maintaining a trust-based relationship between Agropur and the dairy producers who are members in the assigned sectors. Whether on the farm or remotely, the Cooperative Advisor ensures the quality of services offered to members and represents Agropur within the agricultural community at the regional level.

- Salary range 004: 71 200$ to 89 000$ (Salary will be determined based on skills, education, training & experience related to the position.)
What’s Involved In This Role
- Organizes, coordinates, and facilitates training activities, animator meetings, regional assemblies, or any other individual or group member meetings to inform them about Agropur’s activities and business environment;
- Supports members in their efforts to provide quality milk: a. Monitors milk quality improvement at the farm level based on milk marketing agreements and/or Agropur policies; b. Follows up with members whose milk analysis results are outside the norms, in accordance with the farm milk quality intervention protocol;
- Provides members with necessary explanations regarding Cooperative regulations and policies. Collects and completes requests and forms to be sent to the head office for consideration;
- Informs and encourages members to implement best practices in animal welfare and sustainable development, in accordance with codes, standards, policies, and other programs established by Agropur or the industry (e.g., proAction);
- Collaborates on various committees aimed at offering diverse and quality services;
- Stays informed about any developments in the dairy industry that may impact Cooperative members.
What You Need To Join Our Team
- Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, with a focus on animal production, plant production, general agronomy, or agroeconomics;
- Member of the Ordre des Agronomes du Québec or commitment to become one within 6 months;
- Knowledge of dairy cattle farming and the dairy industry;
- Strong communication skills and ability to maintain quality interpersonal relationships;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in various situations;
- Willingness to travel and occasionally stay in different sectors;
- Availability to work extended hours when required;
- Bilingualism in French and English, spoken and written;
- Good knowledge of computer tools, including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn new software easily.
