What is the opportunity?
As Senior Manager, Personal & Commercial Operations (PCO) Finance Performance Management team, you will provide financial and strategic advice and analysis to Personal Banking Operations Executive and Management to improve financial performance and the quality of business decisions. You will act as the primary finance contact for Personal Banking Operations Executive, Senior Management and will also be responsible for planning, forecasting and reporting costs and routinely review business performance and proactively identifies areas of risk, opportunity and success.
What you will do?
- Provide proactive advice to executives/senior management on business performance, cost trends, early warnings and savings opportunities
- Accountable for all month-end, quarter-end reporting, and forecasting / planning FP&A related activities
- Oversee the monitoring, analysis and reporting of financial results against plan/forecast
- Support requirements of P&CB Finance and other finance teams
- Partner on tracking and reporting of costs and benefits of PCO’s and select platform-wide initiative portfolio, including design and validation of modelling for benefit assessments, as well as support portfolio tracking and reporting of actual benefits realized to multiple stakeholders within Finance
- Identify, recommend and monitor key cost drivers and implement efficient standard processes for the timely reporting of financial information
- Provide proactive financial support on business case (PAR) modeling and review
- Ensures the integrity, accuracy, completeness of financial information
- Consult, creating strong relationships and communication with executives/senior management
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- B. Comm, CPA-CA/CMA/CGA, MBA or equivalent work experience
- Excellent communication skills, both oral & written, with good interpersonal skills in order to establish relationships across all levels of the enterprise.
- Experience in financial reporting & analysis and cost management.
- Experience using metrics, KPIs and cost/value drivers in performance management
- Strong technical skills including MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience with unique financial systems such as EPM (IBM Cognos)
- Solid business acumen and problem-solving skills
- Curious and proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Comfortable dealing with incomplete information, uncertainty and change
Nice to Have
- Knowledge and understanding of Retail/Business products and services and Bank’s operations
- Knowledge on calculation and drivers of staff costs, including pension & benefits
- Knowledge of cost allocations and internal management chargeouts
- Prior experience providing direct support to executives, senior business leaders
- A varied working career including positions in a number of areas of RBC or another financial institution(s)
