EA Create is a collective of content production teams partnering with EA Studios game teams to provide outstanding visuals, audio and technology. Our teams consist of artists, engineers, technicians, designers and development directors. Create Audio is looking for an enthusiastic audio artist who will embrace our inclusive culture and share their hard-earned expertise to contribute to an incredible experience for our players. You will work within the Create Audio team and with all other aspects of game development to push the quality bar for game audio. Our new team member will be passionate about the Apex universe and contributing in all areas of audio design and implementation, with a talent for creating immersive worlds and competitive gaming feedback. This is an 11 month temporary hybrid position, reporting to the Development Director.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the Audio Vision: Collaborate with the project Audio Director and development partners to create a creative audio vision aligned with the goals of the title.
  • Sound Design and Implementation: Design and implement immersive audio experiences that enhance the game's world.
  • Audio Pipeline and Workflow Advocacy: Advocate for and design efficient audio pipeline features and workflow processes.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work with Design, Animation, VFX, and Audio Directors to ensure audio aligns with the game vision.
  • Audio Quality Assurance: Be accountable for the audio quality and work toward excellence in all audio deliverables.
  • Budget and Deadline Management: Deliver audio on budget and on time, defining deliverables and schedules.
  • Community Building: Foster a stronger audio community within EA and encourage the best in team members and peers.
  • Troubleshoot: Troubleshoot and resolve audio bugs to maintain high-quality audio experiences.
  • Team Leadership and Onboarding: Help onboard new team members and build an efficient audio team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of seven years game audio and/or post-production experience.
  • Strong artistic and creative sensibilities with a focus on leading an audio vision.
  • Proven track record delivering high-quality audio content for games.
  • Expert knowledge of modern sound creation techniques, processing, and standards.
  • Proficient in using game development tools, technology, and pipelines (e.g., Wwise, FMOD, Unreal, or Perforce).
  • Experience with audio design from scratch, including field and foley recording, processing, editing, and in-game implementation.
  • Highly skilled in mixing and presentation in various formats, including 5.1 audio mixing.
  • Analytic thinker in a collaborative environment.
  • Passion for a variety of AAA games, such as action, adventure, open world, and shooters.

Pay Transparency - North America Compensation And Benefits The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$91,100 - $126,900 CAD
