POSITION SUMMARY:
The co-op student assigned to ITS Asset Management will be participating in a unique program established by Peel Regional Police in partnership with colleges and universities. This program has been designed to assist students to satisfy graduation requirements by attaining hands-on work experience through a co-op placement. To be eligible, candidates must be enrolled in a co-op program through their educational institution.
RESPONSIBILITIES***:***
- Extracts and analyzes data reports related to asset management to ensure accurate hardware/software counts for renewals and refresh cycles
- Maintains and manages a centralized asset database that includes various hardware and software at different stages of their lifecycles
- Works with multiple stakeholders to identify requirements and provide asset procurement services in accordance with their needs
- Develop, maintain, and manage a Service Catalog
- Analyzes and develops processes and procedures for optimization of various asset management practices
- Researches, reviews, and recommends improvements to current processes
- Supports the activities of the Program Co-ordinator-Asset and Vendor Management personnel by performing research, gathering, organizing and analyzing data, as well as engaging internal and external stakeholders
- Assists in administering various aspects of the mobility services
- Performs onsite or remote audits of software or hardware assets
- May occasionally assist other teams within Client Technology Services (CTS) with various remote or on-site tasks
- Perform additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Pursuing a degree/diploma in IT Asset Management or an IT related program is preferred
- Applicants with previous education and/or experience in IT Asset Management will be considered
- Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented with demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team
