Position Summary We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead our company's quality assurance strategy, maintain compliance with ISO and CSA certifications, and drive a culture of continuous improvement. This role is critical to ensuring our services meet the highest standards and exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Strategy & Compliance
- Lead and manage the company's Quality Assurance strategy, ISO 9001 and CSA N299 compliance, and Quality Management System (QMS) implementation.
- Maintain certifications, schedule external audits, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Develop and update Quality Assurance Procedures (QAP) and Quality Policy Manual.
- Continuous Improvement & KPI Management
- Foster a quality-driven culture across all departments.
- Improve performance using Pareto Analysis, Process Capability Analysis, and Lessons Learned.
- Identify Critical to Quality (CTQ) areas and drive process improvements.
- Auditing & Reporting
- Conduct and document monthly internal audits.
- Lead QMS review meetings with management.
- Prepare reports for monthly management and employee meetings.
- Inspection & Testing
- Perform visual, in-process, and receiving inspections of equipment, parts, and components.
- Verify dimensional and electrical requirements per specifications.
- Oversee quality plans and checklists for each project.
- Supplier & Customer Quality Management
- Assist in supplier approval processes and perform vendor assessments.
- Lead source inspections at supplier sites when required.
- Support and participate in customer audits and surveys.
- Process Optimization
- Lead Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) for continuous improvement.
- Increase use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods (control charts, CPK studies, etc.).
- Health & Safety Compliance
- Conduct monthly workplace inspections with the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).
- Track and follow up on employee training and safety certifications.
Qualifications -
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5-10 years of managerial experience in Quality Manufacturing or Engineering.
- Expert knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and CSA N299 QMS implementation.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Statistical Analysis.
- Certified Internal Auditor, CQA, CQE, CQM, Green Belt, or Black Belt (asset).
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
