Job Summary

As Head Bartender, you are responsible for delivering the highest level of hospitality while preparing and serving beverages. You will craft cocktails, provide wine recommendations, and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Engaging with members, training staff, and maintaining high standards of service, health, and safety are central to this role.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Beverage Preparation & Service
  • Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages including cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic options according to club standards.
  • Ensure consistent quality, taste, presentation, and portion control of all beverages.
  • Greet members and guests in a friendly and welcoming manner, providing personalized recommendations and service.
  • Create signature cocktails and showcase mixology creativity.
  1. Staff Training & Development
  • Conduct weekly training sessions on beverage preparation, cocktail mixing, bottle flaring, and upselling techniques.
  • Mentor bar staff to ensure consistent service quality and adherence to recipes.
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development among bar team members.
  1. Operations & Mise-en-Place
  • Set up bar areas efficiently to meet opening schedules and complete all mise-en-place tasks.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and operationally ready bar stations at all times.
  • Process payments accurately using the point-of-sale system.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
  1. Guest Service & Satisfaction
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally or escalate to the Bar Manager or supervisor when necessary.
  • Strive for total guest satisfaction while contributing to organizational profitability.
  • Deliver trend-setting, innovative, and high-quality beverage experiences.
  1. Inventory, Requisitions & Cost Control
  • Prepare store and bar requisitions for inventory needs.
  • Monitor stock levels, ensure proper rotation, and assist with cost control.
  • Support bar manager in ordering and maintaining beverage inventory.
  1. Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Operate safely and in an environmentally friendly manner to protect guests, staff, and the environment.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to responsible alcohol service policies and verify IDs when required.
  • Follow proper sanitation and hygiene standards when handling drinks and garnishes.
  1. Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in opening and closing procedures of the bar.
  • Support bar operations during events, banquets, and club functions.
  • Be flexible to perform other duties outside the scope of work as required by business demands.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Valid Serving-It-Right Certificate.
  • Previous experience as a Bartender in a high-end restaurant, lounge, or hospitality setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mixology, cocktails, wines, and other beverages.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and organization.
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills.
  • Positive attitude, teamwork-oriented, and collaborative.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
