Position Summary

The People Systems & Workplace Technology Specialist owns the day-to-day administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of DASCH’s Workday HCM and connected People systems. The role involves proactively engaging with team members across departments to discover, document, and solution technical and business process improvements, applying these within Workday and related systems. The Specialist acts as the primary on-site contact for tasks related to phone and building security administration, such as providing replacement phones, issuing ID badges, processing basic access requests, managing security system administration, and coordinating vendor support for escalated issues.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum three years’ hands-on experience with a major HCM, ideally Workday.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Familiarity with Canadian Payroll concepts.
  • Proven release management experience and strong documentation skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365, android and iPhone iOS.
  • Must be self-motivated, capable of independent reasoning and troubleshooting, and possess the ability to work reliably and responsibly both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and training skills; able to explain technical concepts across the organization.
  • Nice to haves:
    • Business Analyst certifications/qualifications.
    • Exposure to Intune/MDM concepts.
    • Experience with Non-Profit organizations and/or 24/7 scheduling environments.
    • Workday Pro Certification(s).
    • Workflow Systems experience.

Work Hours:

  • Full Time, Monday to Friday
  • Office-based role

Wage: Annual salary starting at $53,000.00

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery sessions with stakeholders to understand business needs and pain points.

  • Document requirements and propose solutions for process and technical improvements.

  • Apply improvements within Workday and coordinate with IT for more technical implementations.

  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset, reviewing processes throughout the year and in response to business or technology changes.

  • Configure and maintain Workday HCM components; build & maintain custom reports and dashboards.

  • Manage integrations and coordinate with TopBloc Help Desk.

  • Coordinate Workday Scheduling configuration and testing.

  • Orchestrate bi-annual release impact assessments.

  • Provide tier-1/2 support and maintain ticket logs.

  • Promote knowledge sharing and skill development among key functional HR/Payroll team members

  • Serve as the first-line, on-site contact for phone and building security administration tasks (e.g., replacement phones, ID badges, access requests, security system admin).

  • Coordinate vendor support for escalations.

  • Coordinate provisioning and maintain asset logs of company phones.

  • Process issuance, deactivation, and collection of badge/access cards; maintain corresponding records.

  • MDM/Intune coordination: Liaise with ProServeIT for device management.

  • Establish clear communication channels with primary contacts and carriers, to ensure timely information flow and problem-solving.

  • Collaborate with internal teams regarding process modifications.
