Description Job Description Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences is searching for an individual with excellent communication and problem solving skills to assume the Clerk 2 (Staffing Clerk) positions in our Centralized Scheduling (CSSO) Office. Reporting to the Manager, CSSO, the Staffing Clerk will be responsible for updating and maintaining staffing schedules.

Additional responsibilities will also include processing and updating schedule changes using the Meditech system on a daily basis; liaise with Clinical Managers and Scheduling Manager with any discrepancies to shift requests and making the appropriate adjustments; receive and process requests for relief coverage from clinical units and makes necessary adjustments based on availability of existing staff and workload needs; allocate and call in relief staff to fill vacancies resulting from unfilled positions, vacations, LOA, sick and workload adjustments following the relevant collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Minimum of two years clerical experience in a hospital/healthcare setting is required

Data entry skills, a minimum of 30 wpm at 90% accuracy is required

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to be able to prioritize workflow in a busy environment with interruptions required
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including Windows, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Meditech Staff Scheduling or other scheduling software is a definite asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills which includes demonstrated communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with staff at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and respond to requests in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated aptitude to learn new computer programs
  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities using defined policies and procedures
  • Satisfactory work performance and attendance record required
