About the role

MARKETING COORDINATOR

Trico Centre is currently looking for a part-time Marketing Coordinator to add to our Marketing team. Reporting to the Marketing Director, this position is responsible for, but not limited to, supporting the organization’s communication strategies. The incumbent is responsible for driving operational excellence and accountability for the facilities overall marketing and communications plan. The role creates and designs all facility communication initiatives including; media relations, employee/patron messages, graphic design, event promotions, social media, and the website in support of all Trico Centre’s revenue streams.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Communications, public relations, graphic design, journalism and/or equivalent from a recognized institution, or currently enrolled in such a program
  • Ability to work with Adobe Suite, specifically Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop CS5 or greater is a job requirement
  • Minimum two years of not-for-profit related work experience in a communications capacity is an asset
  • Experience in all aspects of planning, tracking and implementing best practice communication strategies
  • Demonstrated experience in customer relations
  • Excellent written and oral skill sets including design and development of newsletters, Board documents, annual reports, program guides, schedules, news releases, etc.
  • Proven experience with social media platforms such as; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of website design and maintenance (WordPress)
  • Previous experience with YouTube and creating video production to promote messages and activities considered an asset
  • Proven experience advertisement creation, messaging and design
  • Trico Centre will initiate a comprehensive criminal background check for all new hires. A previous check will be accepted provided it is dated within the past 6 months.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C

Performance Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Communication

  • Demonstrates and promotes a clear understanding of Trico Centre’s mission, vision, values and goals
  • Works cooperatively with all levels in the organization (supervisors, employees, members/patrons and the Board)
  • Builds and maintains effective internal/external communication relationships and partnerships/alliances with the public, staff and all stakeholders
  • Implements innovative brand strategies with the team to ensure products and services align with customer demand and organizational goals
  • Identifies appropriate communication channels, determines the audience and determines priorities for the communications vision and roll-out of the plan
  • Organizes new and innovative ways to communicate and engage stakeholders
  • Assists the Marketing Director in writing, developing, designing, editing and publishing all internal/external communication materials for the facility (i.e. bulletins, newsletters, annual reports, schedules, etc.)
  • Research communication trends to further improve Trico Centre’s presence in the marketplace
  • Promotes and supports special events to promote the facility (i.e. community events, pass holder promotions, trade fairs/shows, etc.)
  • Creates marketing presentations for the organization on an as needed basis
  • Assists in facility assessments (i.e. member surveys, etc.)
  • Develops communication strategies/pieces to support facility fundraising efforts
  • Assists the Marketing Director with any of the organization’s public communication responses in the event of any emergency

Graphic Design

  • Creates internal/external graphic design pieces for the organization that identifies with Trico Centre’s; brand, strategic plan, culture, and resonates with patrons (i.e. posters, informational/digital signage, special event promotions, program guides, internal displays, videos, sliders, flyers, etc.)
  • Meets and works with department supervisors to determine graphic design needs and promotional literature for each area on a regular basis
  • Plans and reviews graphic design concepts by understanding job requirements and the materials and resources available
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and material
  • Illustrates concepts by designing rough layouts of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts
  • Ensures accuracy of information within all promotional and informational materials
  • Estimates the time required to complete the work and provides realistic deadlines
  • Makes sure that the designs created meet Trico Centre’s media, department and organizational requirements

Website/ Social Media

  • Designs, implements, manages, maintains and reviews the website regularly to ensure the content is current and relevant
  • Research and reviews other organization’s website designs regularly to keep well-informed of new information and changes
  • Coordinates and maintains social media platforms such as; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Maintains and continuously stays informed on new and emerging social media trends and leverages new technologies for the benefit of the facility
  • Creates and develops video imagery (i.e. photographs, videos, etc.) to promote Trico Centre’s internal/external marketing ideas
  • Identifies and tracks social media success for Trico Centre and including setting targets and developing tracking mechanisms

Other

  • Maintains the confidentiality of Trico Centre’s information
  • Attends and participates in Leadership team and Board meetings as required
  • Participates in Membership Committee
  • Participates in additional tasks and projects as needed
  • Participates in Facility Initiatives Committee

Schedule:

Part-time flexible hours per week. Employees will be scheduled to work 8 consecutive hours per day of which 7.5 hours are considered work time and .5 hours (30 minutes) is a paid rest break (7 days per week, 16 hours per day) in keeping with the needs of department and Trico Centre. This position works 24 hours per week and a monthly schedule will be developed cooperatively with the Marketing Director. Any overtime hours must be preapproved by the department supervisor in advance of working the hours. Lieu time off for approved overtime hours worked will be provided for hours worked outside of the 24 hours per week.

Wage:

$21.00-$26.00 depending on education and experience
