We are currently seeking an experiencedProject Managerto lead residential construction projects from pre-construction planning through final completion.
Position Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing residential renovation and custom home projects, ensuring they are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to Powell Contracting's quality standards.
This role involves coordinating site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal staff while maintaining strong communication with leadership and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and experienced in managing residential construction projects in British Columbia.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage residential renovation and custom build projects from planning through completion
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and timelines
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site supervisors to ensure efficient project execution
- Monitor project budgets, track costs, and manage change orders
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Conduct regular site visits and project meetings to ensure progress and quality standards
- Communicate project updates with leadership, clients, and internal teams
- Identify potential project risks and implement solutions proactively
- Ensure compliance with BC Building Code, safety regulations, and permitting requirements
- Support procurement of materials and scheduling of deliveries
- Maintain accurate project records, reports, and documentation
Qualifications
- Minimum5+ years of experience in residential construction project management
- Experience managing**$1M+ residential renovation**.
- Strong knowledge ofBC residential construction practices, permitting, and BC Building Code
- Experience managing renovation or custom home projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience with construction scheduling and budgeting tools
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing jobsite logistics
- Valid driver's license
