STRUCTURAL STEEL - WELDER / FITTER (EVENING SHIFT)

Your schedule would be four 10-hour shifts, Monday to Thursday (3:30pm – 2:00am).
Job Overview
A Fitter's role is to fabricate, assemble and fit structural and miscellaneous steel while maintaining quality and accuracy as outlined by the project specification and to ensure delivery targets are met as per schedule.
To Qualify For This Position
Ability to read and interpret design drawings. Has experience with welding and fitting steel, with current certification tickets. Will work well with each staff person, be likeable and humble in approach.
Key Responsibility Areas
Read and interpret design drawings. Collaborate with workshop foreman to provide solutions for design or material issues. Plan work sequence and cut material to ensure cost effectiveness. Produce assemblies with accuracy as per drawing specifications. Organize and label parts clearly and accurately. Set up and operate various equipment such as torches, drills, various clamping tools, squares, disc grinders and other handheld tools. Adhere to all safety standards and keep workstation clean and organized. Provide data for daily production report. Keep work area clean. Liaise with shop foreman pertaining to tool and equipment maintenance and performance.
