Salary Range: $40,000-53,000/annum
The Opportunity:
The Accounting Clerk provides general administrative assistance to the Finance Department, primarily focusing on Corporate Stores. The Accounting Clerk functions include the preparation of financial reports for several Corporate Stores and ensures that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively. This position collects, records, and reports routine accounting transactions and is also responsible for several Accounts Payable functions.
Responsibilities:
The Accounting Clerk, duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing accounting and clerical support to the Finance Department.
- Receiving via email and courier materials from corporate stores and completion of related tasks.
- Maintaining daily cash flow.
- Accounts Payable data entry for specific vendors.
- Daily communication with corporate store managers via a central email inbox and/or telephone.
- Type accurately, prepare, maintain, and save electronically accounting documents and records.
- Open weekly corporate store courier packages (onsite function).
- Filing and distribution of finance documents e.g., sales reports, month end supporting documents, vendor bills, etc. (onsite function).
- Physical preparation, box records and move to offsite file storage (onsite function).
- Import Corporate Store Sales and prepare month end entries.
- Prepare monthly Financial Statements and account reconciliations.
- Support the Finance team in performing additional tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Accounting
- Minimum two (2) years proven accounting experience.
- Previous experience with NetSuite financial system an asset.
- Computer literacy – including competency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) and accounting software.
- Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, formatting, formulas).
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
- Familiarity with basic accounting procedures.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Aptitude for numbers.
- Physical ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks (lift and move boxes).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
